Maria G Eckley
Maria began her practice in 2006. Chula Vista Yoga Center was her first yoga
studio, immediately falling in love with the practice and the studio. She completed her 1st
certification in 2009 at CVYC. After a few years of practicing, she had a desire to open a
yoga studio of her own. Discussing this desire with her teacher and looking for advice, he
surprised her when he mentioned he was moving out of the country and was looking for
someone to take ownership of the studio. She did, and since then, she has managed the
studio, continuously studying and honoring the lineage, while maintaining the vision that
started the yoga studio. Currently, Maria is deeply involved in the study of the sister
science of yoga, Ayurvedic Medicine and Dharma Yoga.
Saira began her yogic journey at the Chula Vista Yoga Center in the beginning of 2011,
where she completed her RYT-200 certified teacher training program. In search of a
new perspective and learning about self-love, she decided to participate in a 30
consecutive day yoga challenge. During this time, a shift of energy within her mind,
body and soul, created a sense of fulfillment which she attributes to a life changing
experience. As her yoga practice evolved, it was clear that yoga was her life long path.
Inspired by her teachers, Saira’s teaching is to share the importance of each individual's
personal practice that aligns with oneself and brings joy. She continues to strive within
her personal journey while she applies all the teachings of yoga to everyday life; the
teacher will always be the student.
In 2009 Jackie began her yoga journey immediately after graduating from high school. Yoga opened up her eyes to a whole new world. A world of self-love, compassion, peace, inspiration, and true identity. Knowing that her calling would be to inspire others to live a health conscious lifestyle, she chose to pursue a career as a yoga and fitness instructor. In 2010 she received her 200hr Yoga teacher training certification from Chula Vista Yoga Center. Later in 2014, she graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences, certifying her as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She then completed another 300hr yoga teacher training in India, becoming a 500E-RYT. Jackie is also certified to teach yoga sculpt, SUP yoga, and is a lead instructor in Yoga Teacher Trainings. Currently pursuing a certification as a Holistic Nutrition Consultant, Jackie aims to educate people about the importance of combining the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga, with a mindful and wholesome diet so we can all feel and live at our optimal best!
Ashley has been teaching yoga to both adults and children since acquiring her certification in 2010 through Kristyan Stjerne and Jano Galindo at the Chula Vista Yoga Center. If you have taken class with Ash you have most likely met one, or all of her three kids, since she’s worn each of them on her back as babies to class. The visual of her with a baby on her back while teaching is a great representation of her teaching style: never leaving anyone behind, while inspiring true connection and union through practice. Ashley has a deep love for her kids, yoga, animals and cacao. She is a Chula Vista native that has also lived and learned in Costa Rica. Ashley credits a huge part of her love for sharing superfoods to working with her great friend, Peace Pies owner/head chef, JP Alfred, since 2013. Yoga at the Chula Vista Yoga Center has been an absolute life changer for Ash since beginning her practice in 2008 and transmuting some really difficult life challenges into a light journey. Ashley loves serving her community and honoring God and her teachers/lineage by sharing yoga, cacao and hugs with everyone she meets.

Coming from a background of playing competitive sports from a young age, Andre was ready and accepted the physical challenges yoga had presented him. Soon after pursuing a regular yoga practice, he began to understand the struggle to balance competitive drive with respect for the body’s limits. Before long, he found peace, clarity, and stillness in his practice and is intrigued by the mind-body connection yoga has to offer. He believes yoga has a way of giving you what you want, but at the same time also what you need.
